Boys' basketball round-up: Boys & Girls tops Bishop Maginn in Albany
By FiveBoroSports.com January 25, 2009Leroy Isler scored 14 points, Lamount Samuell Jr. had 13 and Mike Taylor added 10 for Boys and Girls in a 61-56 overtime victory over Bishop Maginn (N.Y.) in Albany Sunday afternoon. The Kangaroos (16-6) knocked off Maginn, a state Federation Class AA semifinalist last March, by out-scoring them 22-13 in the fourth quarter and overtime. Taran Buie had 21 points in defeat.
St. Peter’s 65, Susan Wagner 56: O.D. Anosike scored 21 points and Lenny Ragaglia added 14 for St. Peter’s 13-4. Sejiro Agosa paced Wagner (6-11) with 14.
Wadleigh 55, Xaverian 48: Terrence Henderson scored 25 points, grabbed nine rebounds and added four assists for Wadleigh in non-league action. Tyrie Orosco chipped in six points and 14 rebounds and Obafemi Alese had eight points, six assists and three steals. For Xaverian (6-9), Justin Exum and Filip Bochkov each scored 12 points.
Long Island Lutheran 63, All Hallows 61: Achraf Yacoubou hit a layup off an in-bounds pass with 0.2 seconds left in overtime to win it for Long Island Lutheran in overtime on Saturday. Tobias Harris had 22 points and 14 rebounds in his first game back from torn ankle ligaments. Kevin Johnson’s three-pointer with two seconds remaining in regulation tied the score at 55 and forced overtime. Rashawn Stores scored 23 points for All Hallows (4-8) and Mike Alvarado had 18.
Bishop Ford 66, Cardinal Spellman 32: Chaz Williams had 18 points and six assists, Kamari Murphy finished with 14 points and 10 rebounds for Bishop Ford Saturday.

Art & Design 67, Collaborative 55: Xavier Kennedychurnac had 28 points and 18 rebounds and Andrew Joseph finished with 15 for Art & Design (6-6) in Manhattan A East on Saturday. Collaborative, which fell to 2-12, got 26 points from Chris Robinson.

School of the Future 74, Bard 54: Ian Deitzer had 24 points and 19 rebounds and Woodrow Withers added 20 and 12 for School of the Future (8-0) in Manhattan B-2 on Saturday. Bard is 3-7.
