i think it is wrong for PSAL coaches to be putting officials names on this website!!! i am a official and i would not want my career tarnished over a coaches opinion!! we have nothing to do with the outcome of a game. we do not shot the ball we officate!!! PSAL should suspend coaches for metioning the names of officials the way the NCAA does.
Posted 19 months 23 days agoUnprofessional report. If a coach or players disagree with officiating, you should state that they disagreed with officaiting. Publishing the name of officials is unprofessional. Pat Price, protecting his fellow brethren officials.
Posted 19 months 23 days agoWhile mentioning the referees names may bother some, the fact is the names of the officials, for each game, are on the official website of the PSAL. It is no secret who they are.
Posted 19 months 23 days agoThe only reason the official's name was used in the story was because how adamant Boys & Girls were about him. Plus, his name is on the PSAL web site as one of you mentioned. We by no means are blaming the referee for Boys & Girls loss. We are reporting on their side of the story. It is the sidebar to the game story.
Posted 19 months 23 days agoThe referees are on the floor just like the players are. They get paid to do these games and reporte's have just as much of a right to report on accusations of misconduct by officials as they do of anybody. Zach didn't make a judgement in this article that said official DID cheat or fix the game, but just reported the accusations made by Boys & Girls.
Posted 19 months 23 days agoMs Lovelace is intitled to her opinion, but at the end of the day she has to look and question her team and their inability to close out the game in their favor. Shame on you Mr Braziller for publishing the name of the official. Yes the names are published on the PSAL website, but you didnt have to make it common knowledge which one of ref's she was upset with. Next time use better judgement when printing a story.
Posted 19 months 23 days agoAs noted in the article Lovelace was "disgusted" with the ref before the game even began. I agree Lovelace should face repercussions for her unprofessional outrage. Just a thought Ms Lovelace;perhaps if you had checked the PSAL website back in November or anytime PRIOR to game day your request might have been granted. I've seen this veteran official ref numerous games. He is always professional and shows great sportsmenship conduct whenever he is on the floor. Ms Lovelace could learn a thing or two from the ref.
